Homemade Caramel Candy Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Baking Pan:
    • Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Grease the parchment paper with butter.
  2. Melt the Butter:
    • In a large, thick-bottomed pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Combine Ingredients:
    • Add brown sugar, corn syrup, and sweetened condensed milk to the melted butter. Stir well to combine.
  4. Cook the Caramel:
    • Attach a candy thermometer to the side of the pot, ensuring it doesn’t touch the bottom. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently.
    • Cook until the mixture reaches 240°F (115°C) – the soft-ball stage.
