Apple Pastries Baked in the Oven
Ingredients:
- 2 cups regular flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2/3 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups diced apples (preferably Granny Smith)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, combine milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Slowly incorporate the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced apples and brown sugar until evenly distributed.
- Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each pastry.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the pastries are golden brown and fully cooked.
- Allow the pastries to cool slightly before serving.
