French Toast Bake Recipe

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Base:
    • Melt butter in the microwave & mix with brown sugar until well combined.
    • Pour the butter/sugar mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan and spread it evenly.
  2. Assemble the Layers:
    • Beat the eggs, milk, and vanilla together.
    • Place a single layer of thickly sliced bread in the pan.
    • Spoon half of the egg mixture over the bread layer.
    • Sprinkle cinnamon over the bread and egg mixture.
    • Add a second layer of sliced bread.
    • Spoon the remaining egg mixture over the second bread layer.
  3. Chill and Bake:
    • Cover the pan and refrigerate overnight.
    • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes (cover for the first 30 minutes).
  4. Serve:
    • Sprinkle with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
    • Serve warm with maple syrup.
