Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures your casserole will bake evenly and reach that perfect golden-brown finish.
  2. Prepare the Sausage: In a large skillet, over medium heat, crumble the sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Ensure it is cooked through and no longer pink. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Sauté the Vegetables: Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the sausage. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent. Then, stir in the carrots, bell pepper, zucchini, and green beans. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, allowing the vegetables to soften slightly.
  4. Combine the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sautéed sausage and vegetables with the diced tomatoes, broth, oregano, basil, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure everything is evenly coated in the flavorful sauce.
  5. Transfer to a Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into a large, greased casserole dish. Spread it out evenly to ensure even cooking.
  6. Add the Topping: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the casserole. If you’re using breadcrumbs for an extra crunch, sprinkle them on top of the cheese.
