Homemade Caramel Candy Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Prepare the Baking Pan:
- Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Grease the parchment paper with butter.
- Melt the Butter:
- In a large, thick-bottomed pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Combine Ingredients:
- Add brown sugar, corn syrup, and sweetened condensed milk to the melted butter. Stir well to combine.
- Cook the Caramel:
- Attach a candy thermometer to the side of the pot, ensuring it doesn’t touch the bottom. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently.
- Cook until the mixture reaches 240°F (115°C) – the soft-ball stage.
