Dough: A harmonious combination of flour, sugar, butter, egg and baking powder forms our basic dough. First, mix the butter and sugar into a creamy mass, then add the egg and mix well. Then sift the flour with the baking powder and fold into the mixture to create an even, smooth dough. Now carefully press this dough into a springform pan and set it aside.

Filling: The filling is the heart of this cake and requires your full attention. Take a pan and add milk, sugar, semolina and poppy seeds. Heat the mixture, stirring constantly, until it simmers gently. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the sour cream until everything is well mixed. This delicious poppy seed mixture is now evenly distributed over the prepared dough. The cake is then allowed to unfold its full splendor in an oven preheated to 180 °C for around 30 minutes.

Glaze: The crowning glory of this cake is without a doubt the glaze. First, mix the sugar, milk and egg yolk in a bowl. Then add the sour cream and stir until it forms a smooth mixture. Now carefully fold in the previously beaten egg whites to keep the glaze light. This glaze is poured over the already baked cake and everything is allowed to bake in the oven for another 15 minutes until golden brown.
