Savory Strudel Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 roll of puff pastry
- Prosciutto
- Cheese
- 2 hard-boiled eggs
- 1 whole egg
- Milk (as needed)
Instructions:
- Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Unroll the puff pastry sheet. Cut one half into strips for decoration.
- Prepare the Filling:
- Layer prosciutto and cheese on the puff pastry sheet.
- Grate the hard-boiled eggs over the filling.
- Assemble the Strudel:
- Beat the egg white and brush the edges of the pastry.
- Cover the filling with another layer of puff pastry.
- Seal the edges well.
- Brush with Egg Wash:
- In a small bowl, combine the whole egg with a bit of milk to create an egg wash.
- Brush the surface of the strudel with the egg wash.
- Decorate and Bake:
- Twist and decorate the top with the pastry strips.
- Brush the top again with the egg wash.
- Bake:
- Place the strudel on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
